The covid-19 has had a significant impact on every aspect of the global economy. Could you please make clear the impact of the pandemic on women as in your presentation?
It can not deny that the significant impact of the pandemic when most economic activities are halted to control the spread in the community, business situation is difficult due to reduced purchasing power, disruption of the supply chain. In response to the global, the growth indexes of developing countries in East Asia were all at a negative level, etc. In particular, trade disruptions also impact women. They are a vulnerable part of society, and the areas in which they work are most affected by the pandemic, with the main focus on gender inequality, such as low wages for women, limited access to opportunities. with education, financial constraints, and social constraints. Therefore, to close the gender gap, the government needs to focus on reforming regulations and social institutions, while maintaining an open economic market and creating favorable conditions for women's work.
In the face of the serious Covid-19 pandemic, the application of e-commerce in business activities opens up many job opportunities for people and recovers the post-pandemic economy in Thailand in particular and ASEAN countries in general. Could you please share with us about the opportunities?
There are many opportunities for the economy in ASEAN. It can be said that the cross-border e-commerce model also contributes to promoting the implementation of the ASEAN Agreement on e-commerce, increasing the mobility of human resources among ASEAN countries, thereby encouraging digitalisation of economies in the region. However, it should be noted that trade fraud and logistics costs are still potential threats to the development of e-commerce between countries. Thailand, Vietnam, and ASEAN countries need to take remedial measures and seize opportunities to recover the post-pandemic economy.
E-commerce is becoming more and more popular, leading to fierce competition in sales and marketing. This spurred the development of new business models to reduce marketing costs, and at the same time, pressured to create uniqueness in manufacturing and designing products to suit the growing market needs. In addition, media is an issue that needs to be kept in mind to create a constant connection with customers and understand their needs in each step of the buying decision process.
Special thank you for your time and sharing. Best luck to you!
