11. Summary of dissertation’s new findings:

- In terms of theory: The dissertation has provided clearer and more systematic theoretical understandings on the role of small & medium enterprises (SMEs) in the development of supporting industry (SI). Specifically, it specified the theory on the real role of SMEs in the development of SI and the conditions for this role to be fulfilled.

- In terms of practice: From the secondary research on documents from relevant Ministries, investigations and surveys, the dissertation has analyzed and assessed the practice of ensuring the role of SMEs in the development of SI in Vietnam, thereby recommending feasible measures to promote this role.

12. Applicability:

The dissertation has studied on the role of SMEs in the development of SI in Vietnam and the limitations in fulfilling their roles recently. Lending on that ground, the dissertation has pointed out the reasons for such limitations. As a result, it is recommended for Vietnam to adjust and develop new policies to promote the role of SMEs in the development of SI in the upcoming time.

The dissertation will be a useful reference for macro management agencies in developing policies promoting the role of SMEs in the development of SI in Vietnam.

Research on the effectiveness of the State’s influences on the role SMEs in the development of SI in Vietnam.

Research on the supply chain of products for large enterprises (assembly industry).

In-depth research on the assistance policies for SMEs in the development of SI in terms of capital, human resource and technology.
