The Faculty of Finance and Banking strengthens the partnership with Lincoln International Business School

On March 29th 2017, representatives from Lincoln University including Dr. Craig Marsh - Pro Vice Chancellor cum Director of Lincoln International Business School and Prof. Ian Barnes - Head of Development Cooperation, Lincoln University had a meeting with the Faculty of Finance and Banking at VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) to discuss cooperation opportunities.

Representatives of Faculty of Finance and Banking (UEB) to welcome the guests were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu - Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Nguyen Phu Ha - Head of Banking Department.

This is the second negotiation between the two universities after the business trip of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu to Lincoln in October 2016. The meeting took place in an open atmosphere. Finally, the two universities agreed on key cooperation issues and expected to reach official signing in 2017.

The UEB and Lincoln International Business School are both academic institutions focusing on research, with the goal of enhancing application in training. Therefore, despite of limited time of meeting, the two universities have discovered many orientations in common. Specifically, the cooperation of research on issues that both sides are interested in such as entrepreneurship, bank restructuring, corporate governance, issues related to social enterprises, financial personnel… will be legalized in the Memorandum of Understanding. Moreover, the two institutions look forward to publishing these research results at international conferences, sharing with students of UEB at seminars or integrating into teaching knowledge.

As for training, the two universities will firstly focus on the Honored Bachelor program in Finance and Banking and the high quality Master program in financial institutions management. The Lincoln International Business School will send experts to participate in these programs as visiting lecturers. Both institutions will also develop student exchange programs such as summer courses or internships at the world's leading financial centers in London.

The first cooperation activity will be the international conference on "Finance for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Renewable Energy" co-organized by the UEB and Lincoln International Business School in August 2017. The conference is expected to welcome more than 100 scientific experts from many countries around the world. Faculty of Finance and Banking is in charge of this event, from organization to fund mobilization.
