Working with representatives of Saga University, Japan

On 30th January 2018, representatives of UEB had a meeting with representatives of Saga University, Japan.

Representative of Saga University visiting the UEB includes Prof. Hirokazu Nakamura - Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Hanmo Jang - Lecturer and Ms. Mayumi Furusawa - Secretary, Faculty of Economics. From the UEB, there were Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector, Dr. Nguyen Cam Nhung - Associate Dean of Faculty of International Business and Economics, MSc. Nguyen Duc Lam - Deputy Head of Research and Partnership Development.

Saga University is located in the northwestern part of Kyushu, the southern part of Japan. The university is formed by the integration of the former Saga University and Saga Medical School, consists of five faculties: The Faculty of Culture and Education, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and the Faculty of Agriculture. Saga University has 7.500 undergraduate and graduate students studying and researching, of which more than 300 students came from other countries.
At the meeting, representatives of the two universities discussed cooperation activities in the fields of exchanges/short-term courses. In particular, students of the two universities can participate in study tours, academic exchanges and faculty members can cooperate in joint research and seminars/conferences etc.

Meanwhile, representatives from the two universities also discussed on collaborative research programs, focusing on key research directions, connecting research teams of mutual interest and seeking external funding for the research.

In the future, the two universities wish to develop long-term cooperation through joint training programs 2+2 or 3+1, so that second and third year students at UEB may transfer to Saga University to complete the program and get a degree from Japan.
