Cooperation on research
After visiting the campus of Goettingen University, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le discussed with Prof. Fabian Froese (Manager of partnership programs, Head of Department of Human Resource and Business Management in Asia) in the afternoon.

The two universities have already cooperated in some fields such as exchange of postgraduate students. As both sides are leading research universities in their country, leaders of the universities expected to expand cooperation in research.

The two universities agreed to connect scholars and lecturers of both sides to conduct joint research projects. Three key research areas are: Development Economics, Agricultural Economics and Human Resource Management.

Start the exchange of lecturers and students
Student/lecturer exchange is a key cooperative activity between the two universities. Leaders of the two universities discussed and agreed to launch the student exchange program with mutual agreement on credit acknowledgement. The duration of exchange is from 3 to 6 months.

The two universities also agreed on the exchange program so that two to four UEB’s students can at Goettingen University (usually in the winter), combining with student exchange from other countries, creating a multicultural learning environment.

Besides, leaders of the two universities also discussed opportunities for exchange of learners at master and doctoral degrees.

Promote exchange of professors
In the meeting with Prof. The Thomas Kneib - Head of Statistics and Econometrics, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le recalled the content discussed with Professor Fabian Froese and propose to accelerate the pace of cooperation between the two sides.

 

After that, Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Truc Le had a meeting with Professor Stephan Klasen (Head of Department of Development Economics), one of the 40 leading economists in the world according to the Handelsblatt rank, a prestigious magazine of Germany. At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le proposed the collaboration among professors of the two universities.

At the end of two working days, Goettingen University and VNU University of Economics and Business have come to agreement on some cooperation activities, including international conferences, short courses, and collaboration among professors. With this cooperation, VNU University of Economics and Business has expanded its internationalization orientation, transforming the learning environment in Vietnam as a multinational learning environment. This also provides chances for students to learn abroad and quickly adapt to work in multinational working environment.
