Seminar to build economic-technical norms for UEB’s training programs

On the afternoon of September 11, 2020, the University of Economics and Business organized a workshop to build economic-technical norms for the university's training programs.

Speaking at the seminar, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector of the UEB said that building the economic and technical norms for the training program is an indispensable requirement for training institutions, especially when training programs are invested to improve quality and integrate internationally. UEB is implementing the strategy of internationalizing education, innovating teaching methods and increasing practical practice, accrediting international quality, improving the output quality of students… therefore, it is necessary to have a specific and accurate norm to balance revenue- expenditure and reasonable investment for the university’s activities. UEB is a pioneer in VNU in developing and applying economic-technical norms for training programs.

On behalf of the executive group, PhD. Pham Minh Tuan – Vice Rector of the UEB has received many objective, constructive comments from management agencies, financial and educational experts. Based on that, the group will make appropriate adjustments to complete the criteria of economic-technical norms.

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh, Head of Office of Student Affairs presented the draft of converting training programs based on economic - technical norms. Accordingly, with the training programs built on economic and technical norms, students will experience an internationalized environment through exchange activities, student exchange, credit exchange at domestic and international universities. The revised curriculum of training programs will have the participation of comments from organizations, businesses, and employers towards the international accreditation of ACBSP of training programs. Students will have the opportunity to practice skills to meet the requirements of employers through the connection activities between the university - business and students; students will also be able to get jobs right after graduation and ready to adapt to the working environment in the context of internationalization.

The participants highly appreciated the pioneering of UEB in building economic-technical norms for the training program in VNU's members. PhD. Tran Tu Khanh - Director of Planning and Finance Department, Ministry of Education and Training strongly supports the development of economic-technical norms for the training programs. He also suggested VNU should have documents to guide its members on the issues.
