On 18th July 2008, Billionaire Patrick J. McGovern, Founder and President of International Data Group (IDG), member of Management Board of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) had a working visit to the University of Economics and Business - VNU (UEB).
Lady Lore Harp McGovern and Mr. Le Thanh Tam, Managing Director of IDG Vietnam - Indonesia also joined the working visit. On behalf of the UEB, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phung Xuan Nha, Rector of the UEB, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Vice Rector of the UEB and representatives of department under the College warmly welcomed Mr. McGovern’s visit.
In the working session, the two sides discussed the cooperation abilities between the UEB and IGD, MIT, particularly in cooperative training programs in Business Administration and Information Technology (including MBA training programs and mini MBA), scientific research, scholarship award, lecturer exchange program, website development… In the meeting, Mr McGovern and his wife also gave precious consultancy to soon develop the UEB to international standard.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phung Xuan Nha emphasized: The implementation of cooperative training programs and scientific researches in Business Administration and Information System with IDG and MIT will create new breakthroughs in the development of the UEB in the coming period.
Mr. Patrick J. McGovern thanked leadership of the UEB for the warm welcome and believed in the ability of long term cooperation of the two sides.
In near future, IDG’s representatives and leadership of the UEB will discuss in more details the cooperative programs between the IDG and the UEB.
