Entrepreneurial skills training project opens new course of 33 learners

On the morning of 17th April 2012, at VNU University of Economics and Business, the second training course of improving entrepreneurial skills for female in Vietnam SMEs was opened with 33 learners who are female managers of Hanoi Business Association (HBA) and Hanoi Association for Entrepreneur Women (HNEW).

Present at the opening ceremony was Ms. Ninh Thi Ty - Vice President of of HBA, Ms. Cao Minh Truc - Vice President of Hanoi Association for Entrepreneur Women, Assoc.Prof.PhD.. Nguyen Hong Son - UEB Rector together with the lecturers and 33 learners.

In his opening speech, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Hong Son said that nowadays women play an important role in Vietnam’s economic development. However, most of them have been facing many challenges due to the limitations of knowledge and skills to start a business, especially in the changing context of society today. Hence, the Rector hoped that with the differences compared to other international projects on about Vietnamese women in development, the training course would actively contribute to their business. At the same time, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Hong Son also expressed his belief in the learners, who would positively participate in the development of women's movement in Vietnam.

At the opening ceremony, Ms. Ninh Thi Ty and Ms. Cao Minh Truc have greatly appreciated the UEB and its partners for implementing the useful training course and they also wished the course success.
After the ceremony, the learners have take part in the first class on the theme "Strengthening staff to develop" taught by Dr. Do Xuan Truong - Head of Department of Human Resources Management, VNU University of Economics and Business.
This is the second course under the joint project between the University of Sydney (Australia) and VNU University of Economics and Business which was funded by the Australian Government’s Overseas Aid Program (AusAID). The course consists of 5 subjects, expected to take place within five months with 1 subject per month on 17th April, 8th May, 12th June, 10th July and on 14th August.
