Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice-Rector

Opening the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Anh Thu highly appreciated the spirit and passion for scientific research of students of the VNU University of Economics and Business, and expressed confidence in the creativity of the youth, passionate Enthusiastic, and diligence in studying and doing scientific research with the dedicated guidance of faculty and staff, " student scientists " have overcome many challenges to participate in the competition final round. The Scientific Research Conference is always a useful, interesting, and energetic academic space for staff, lecturers, and students to contribute to improving the quality of training and scientific research of the University.

UEB students use English fluently when presenting research projects

14 student research projects associated with topics related to socio-economic issues in the context of the industrial revolution 4.0 and the far-reaching impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. These are all carefully invested topics in both form and content, showing the seriousness and creativity in scientific research. Many research papers are highly appreciated and suggest new research directions for UEB students.

The Scientific Council of the Student Scientific Research Conference highly appreciated the science and practicality of the scientific research works of UEB students in 2022

Council members discussed and asked many critical questions to the participating groups. On that basis, students have more clearly identified the contents of their scientific research work and can draw experience and draw a lot of knowledge to complete the work at a higher level.

Most of the research contents have profound scientific and practical significance, the students have quite deeply grasped the contents and expressed them well. The research papers all attracted the interest and criticism from students and additional answers from the teachers in the Council.

Dr. Nguyen Duc Lam, Head of Science Research & Development Cooperation Department, said: "The scientific research works of students are of very good quality, the number of works written in English and reported in English has a high proportion. Some works are highly topical and practical, using advanced computational models. In addition to focusing on cultivating basic knowledge and research methods, several student research projects have made a methodical investment in collecting primary data through surveys as well as expert interviews.

The works presented at the University Conference are all very elaborate and methodical, and the winning works have the opportunity to achieve achievements when they are sent to participate in university-level competitions and even country or city level. Although during the research process, the Covid-19 pandemic was complicated, the works still ensure very good quality."

Under the dedicated guidance of the teachers in the Faculty/Institute, along with the students' passion for scientific research, after a thorough review process, the Council found the "owner" of 5 First Prizes, 5 Second Prizes, and 5 Second Prizes. 4 Third Prizes.

5 groups of students won the First Prizes at the UEB Student Scientific Research Conference in 2022
5 groups of students won the Second Prizes at the UEB Student Scientific Research Conference in 2022
5 groups of students won the Third Prizes at the UEB Student Scientific Research Conference in 2022

Dr. Luu Ngoc Hiep - Responsible for Vice Dean of Faculty of Finance and Banking, lecturer guiding the group of students who won the third prize (Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - Student QH-2018-E TCNH CLC, Nguyen Ngoc Tram - Student K18 UEB-Troy) shared: "During the debate at the Faculty level, you were still surprised at first because this was the first time a student of the Center for International Education and Training (CITE) participated in scientific research. When I listen to my students perform at the university level, I realize that your performance exceeds the standards of a normal Scientific Research paper, you are like consulting policy for a business. industry or a government organization, it shows very clearly your confidence and knowledge about the subject you are researching. This is a great signal."

According to student Nguyen Ngoc Tram - Student K18 UEB-Troy: "I would like to thank the Conference Organizing Committee and the University for allowing us to challenge ourselves with such a large-scale competition. I would also like to thank Mr. Luu Ngoc Hiep for enthusiastically leading my team throughout the research process. Although I was going on an exchange abroad, the time zone difference did not stop the teacher's enthusiasm for his students. When I won the third prize of the contest, I felt very happy and proud, looking forward to continuing to research and devote more to upcoming scientific research projects."

With the research topic "Macroprudential policy and economic development", Ngoc Tram added "This fairly new content has high applicability, we believe that they can make a significant contribution to socio-economic development in Vietnam's recovery after the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 epidemic. The topic will give the government and other competent authorities a more comprehensive and comprehensive view of the impact of macro-security policy and its tools in recovering and promoting the development of national security. economic development, thereby consolidating and contributing socio-economically."

Vu Hoang Lan - Student of QH-2018-E TCNH CLC, winner of the second prize in the scientific research, said about the difficulties in the process of researching the topic "A deep - net approach to scenario generator: Application for bank stress test: " During the research process, I had difficulty in running the model. Due to the limitations of computer performance, I cannot give the best results, although the results of my current model are also very feasible. Especially in terms of data, I have not been able to come up with some good variables that strongly affect the bank as well as the characteristics of the economy.

However, banks are currently trying their best to innovate models to build better Stress Test scenarios. My model has overcome the limitations of the previous model and has also applied Vietnamese data to prove the model's effectiveness. And I think that the model I studied can be further developed, giving a few scenarios that can be given to the State Bank for reference to apply in assessing the resilience of banks."

Dr. Le Hong Thai - Lecturer of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Instructor of Student Vu Hoang Lan shared: "Honestly, I feel very happy and proud of my student. Although there was only one student in the group of students I guided, Hoang Lan still presented confidently, coherently, and clearly. I was particularly impressed with the example you gave of the difference in the money-distinguishing task between a policeman and a counterfeiter. This example illustrates the nature of the research model proposed in the research paper. In addition, I am also extremely satisfied with the way Hoang Lan answered the critical questions given by the teachers of the Evaluation Council, the answers were short, concise, and to the point."

In addition to commending the high-achieving teams, the Council appreciates the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the faculty members in guiding the groups to achieve high-quality research.

The Scientific Research Conference of students spread their passion, promoted their enthusiasm for scientific research, created an environment for knowledge exchange, and contributed to discovering and fostering research capacity, especially in applying for works. into practical research. In the coming time, UEB students will promote the achieved results, continue to make efforts, and strive to achieve higher achievements in their study as well as in scientific research activities, contributing to affirming the role and position of the VNU University of Economics and Business.
