Webometrics is an automated ranking system that assesses the digital capability and academic resource dissemination of higher education institutions based on indicators related to website and online information system impact, academic resource openness on Google Scholar, and scientific citation index on the Scopus database excellence of a higher education institution.
In this ranking period, Webometrics still continues to use the same ranking methods as January 2021. Specifically, the criteria “Presence” (measuring the amount of public knowledge shared) has been removed from the ranking criteria. The criteria “Visibility” has the largest weight (50%), followed by the criteria “Excellence” with 40% and “Transparency” with 10% — in which the “Transparency” criteria has expanded the database of surveyed Google Scholar profiles to 290 (top 21-310).
Also in this ranking period, VNU Hanoi maintained its impact ranking position approaching top 500 (505th position) - demonstrating the sustainable influence of VNU Hanoi's online resource and website system not only on the domestic and international academic community but also strongly impacting society as a whole.
On June 27, 203, the QS Ranking Organization (Quacquarelli Symonds) announced the results of the QS World University Rankings 2024. In it, VNU Hanoi continues to maintain its ranking position within the top 1000 best universities in the world according to the new QS WUR ranking criteria and for the first time in the top 500 globally in terms of employer reputation.
