According to Prof. Nguyen Huu Duc - Editor-in-Chief of VNU Journal of Science, who is directly in charge of V-CitationGate system, since 2016, VNU has started to build a database of Vietnam citing indexes and the database of Vietnam Research, these two systems are integrated into V-CitationGate. According to statistics, Vietnam has nearly 350 scientific journals, but only 66 journals are published online with independent websites and in the database of V-CitationGate.

In 2019, V-CitationGate ranked the top 30 magazines having the highest Impact Factor (IF), with emphasis on the Vietnamese journals published entirely by internal resources and to step by step approach to international standard of calculating IF index, the number of years of calculation of the database also decreases to 5 years, for the period 2014-2018. In addition to the presence of good research institutions such as the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (9 magazines), VNU-HCM (1 magazine), Ton Duc Thang University (1 magazine) , National Economics University (1 magazine) ..., VNU has 10 magazines in this system. In which, VNU Journal of Science: Economics and Business ranks 11th in the rankings. Besides being recognized for quality through the only interested parameter is the average citation index of an article, VNU Journal of Science: Economics and Business has also created a momentum to approach the international database once V-CitationGate connects compatibly with international systems.

In general, the most basic and direct criteria is the level of acceptance and trust of the scientific community. Therefore, the number of citations and the IF index is being used commonly as a gauge of journal reviews. With the recognition in the rankings of V-CitationGate, VNU Journal of Science: Economics and Business affirmed the maturity in both content and form, positioning the status in the country and the region as well as in the heart of readers. That is the result of the efforts and continuous efforts of the Editorial Board and all Editorial staff, collaborators, experts and scientists who have been accompanying with VNU Journal of Science: Economics and Business. It is also an encouraging result for VNU Journal of Science: Economics and Business to continue to publish quality research works, aiming to support studying, researching, managing and orienting policies and simultaneously implementing innovation and creatively accessing to international standards of scientific journals, contributing to building the image and strengthening the position of the VNU University of Economics and Business in the region and the world as a university with research orientation.
