On July 2nd, VNU University of Economics and Business in collaboration with International Francophone Institute held the international conference on Leadership and Management in the age of digital transformation.
Attending the conference, there were Mr. Jamale Chouaibi - Ambassador of the
Kingdom of Morocco in Vietnam; Mr. Chékou Oussouma – Representatives of the OIF
region in Asia and the Pacific; Mr. Osama Qawareeq - Embassy of the State of
Palestine in Vietnam; Mr. Tamerlan Khalilov, Counsellor - Embassy of Azerbaijan
in Vietnam; Alice Chang - Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam; Mr.
Pham Xuan Hoan – Director of Planning and Finance Department, VNU.

The conference also attended by Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector of
the UEB, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector; PhD. Ngo Tu Lap -
Director of International Francophone Institute; Mr. Luong Minh Huan - Director
of Enterprise Development Institute, VCCI; Mr. Le Phuoc Minh - Director of the
Institute for African and Middle East Studies.
Speaking at the conference, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Truc Le emphasized: The
world economy is shifting to a new age of digital technology and the digital
economy is forming a framework in many countries, thus leadership and
management need to transform to catch up with the current situation. The
conference gives chances for scholars, experts, leaders and managers to share
their experiences towards building a dynamic digital economy.

After the welcome
remarks, the conference continued with presentations from speakers. The first
presentation was made by Assoc.Prof.PhD. Tran Dinh Thien - Director of Vietnam
Economic Institute.

Thien said that Covid might be an opportunity for many businesses to promote
digital transformation
Assoc.Prof.PhD. Tran Dinh Thien said that the Covid-19 pandemic has
seriously affected the global economy, including Vietnam. At the same time, it
is also an opportunity for businesses to apply digital platforms in their
business operations.
After that, the conference listened to presentations from Mr. Robert Eve on “Accelerating
digital transformation with next generation data management”, which emphasized
that Bigdata is a huge resource in the digital economy.

Following the talk of Mr. Robert Eve, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Phan Chi Anh, Director
of the Center for Business Administration Studies, UEB presented his research
outcome on “Quality of Leadership in the context of digital transformation: From
Vietnam’s Perspectives”. "Leadership is extremely important and transformation
of business processes requires a number of conditions including integration and
improvements of internal and external processes."Assoc.Prof.PhD. Phan Chi
Anh emphasized.

At the conference, more presentations
were presented by Ms. Céline Zapolsky (CEO of Linagora Vietnam) and Mrs. Jean
Y.Foo - Development Director of Luxcer Future Skills Academy and Assoc.Prof.PhD.
Nham Phong Tuan – School of Business Administration, UEB.
After the presentations are
roundtable talks with the participation of PhD. Phan Quoc Nguyen Ms. Céline
Zapolsky and Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nham Phong Tuan. The seminar focused on issues in
institution, legal frame and tax policy as well as recommendations to overcome
challenges after the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the end of the conference, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Anh Thu thanked the
speakers and delegates, hoping that the conference has provided updated knowledge
for scholars, leaders and managers during the era of digital transformation in
Vietnam.
