Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Hong Son - UEB Rector transfers the research outcome to the council
22 April 2013, Rector of the VNU University of Economics and Business had a working session with the Central Theoretical Council to transfer research outcomes of the university to the council.
Receiving the VNU-UEB representatives, the Central Theoretical Council had Prof.Dr Phung Huu Phu - Permanent Vice Chairman, Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Viet Thong - Secretary General and other members of the council and the council’s administration officers.
From the VNU University of Economics and Business was Rector Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son, Vice Rector Dr. Vu Anh Dzung, Director of the UEB’s Center for Economic and Policy Research Dr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, who is chief author of Vietnam Annual Economic Reports series and representatives of other UEB’s offices.
At the meeting, the UEB Rector has delivered over the Vietnam Annual Economic Report 2012 and several research studies to the council. He expressed his desire to receive more research assignment from the council for the UEB.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son also said Vietnam Annual Economic Report was increasingly getting the attention of the society, especially businesses and researchers community. Recently, the series of Vietnam Annual Economic Reports since 2009 have been awarded Bao Son 2012.

In his high appreciation of the UEB’s collaboration for the past years, Prof.Dr. Phung Huu Phu hoped that the report and other research studies of the university would contribute more to the plan making. Reviewing the Vietnam Annual Economic Report, Prof.Dr. Phung Huu Phu thought that thanks to modern research methods and analysis, the report provided useful comments and recommendations. He emphasized that, in the future, the two sides should have a specific cooperation program, in which selective practical activities would be implemented in accordance with the research and teaching functions of the two agencies.

Speaking at the meeting, the representative of the Central Theoretical Council suggested some new research directions for the UEB, such as the impacts of the world economy on Vietnam economy, the impact of the climate change and measures to adapt to climate change, as well as other indepth research studies…
The UEB leader said that the university has been implementing a number of studies on the impact of climate change on sea-based economy, fisheries and business administration to expand the research on sustainable development. The UEB desired to cooperate with the Central Theoretical Council in these research direction in the future.
In general, the representatives of the two sides agreed to continue to seek the cooperation possibility in research based on their strengths such as organizing workshops, participating in research to develop the more extensive cooperation.
This was the third time when the research outcome of the VNU-UEB transferred to the Central Theoretical Council.
