This is the first season after VNU Hanoi and VNU Hochiminh jointly organized award "Vietnam National Unviersity (VNU) excellent scientific research". Prizes for excellent scientific research of students, MA students and fellows of VNU, to encourage scientific research actives of students, improve quality of scientific research of MA students and fellows, enhance creation capacity and scientific contributions consciousness of students, MA students and fellows in solving urgent society problems. In the first year, this prize is awarded for students’ research.
20 report participant are divided into four sub-committees:
• Sub-Committee 1: Sectors "Research on basic Natural Sciences theory, Information Technology and Computational Science"
• Sub-Committee 2: Sectors "Empirical research on technology, engineering, natural science and medicine - pharmacy"
• Sub-Committee 3: Sectors "Research in Economics, Law, Education and Tourism"
• Sub-Committee 4: Sectors "Research in Humanities and Social Sciences, languages ​​and communication"
VNU Hanoi - UEB reported at subcommittee no.3 "Test the stability of major commercial banks in Vietnam" Phung Duc Quyen student (QH-2009-E TCNH TA ). The reseach aimed to test stamina of Vietnam commercial banks in systematic and comprehensive through using multiple sources of data, such as financial statements, local and international macro economic financial data, ... and apply quantitative model  to process and make final result.

Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi My Loc - Rector of VNU University of Education – Chairman of  Subcommittee no.3 appreciated the research of student, selected issues are very interested and have highly practical meaning.

After a period of hard work, the Council has selected five researchs won the first prize, three researchs won the second prize and eight researchs won the third prize. The research of Phung Duc Quyen - VNU Hanoi-UEB is one of five researchs which won the first prize this year.

This is also the excellent first prize at Student Science Research Conference of VNU Hanoi-UEB in 2012-2013.

Besides the major research projects of lectureres, movement of students scientific research of scientific has been sharply development and get good performance. Before, in 2012-2013 school year, VNU Hanoi-UEB students also got some of awards for scientific research including: one second prize and one encouraging prize of Vietnam Young Science Talentin 2012, one first prize, one second prize and one encouraging prize of Student Scientific Research, VNU level).
