On 25th October 2018, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and the Toshiba Foundation (Japan) held the ceremony to award Toshiba scholarship for 12 excellent graduate students of VNU. Chu Tien Minh - the graduate student from Faculty of International Business and Economics is the only student of the UEB receiving this honor.
Attending the ceremony, from VNU, there were Mr. Dinh Van Huong - Director of Political-Students Affairs Department, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh - Deputy Director of Political-Students Affairs Department. Especially, the ceremony was attended by 12 master and doctoral students with excellent academic and research achievements.
From Toshiba Scholarship Fund, there were Mr. Kazuki Matsumoto - Head of Technology Department, Toshiba Corporation; Mr. Keitaro Shigenaka - General Director of Toshiba Software Development Vietnam; Mr. Kazuo Kusakabe - Chief representative of Toshiba Asia Pacific.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh highly appreciated the material and spiritual support from Toshiba Scholarship as it was not only a reward but also an encouragement for the students. In addition, the Toshiba Scholarship Fund has opened new opportunities for improving knowledge and skills of students, inspiring them in developing new and innovative ideas to contribute to community and society.
On behalf of VNU, Mr. Dinh Van Huong expressed his deep gratitude to the Toshiba Scholarship Fund for giving such a meaningful scholarship for students.
Over the last 10 years, VNU and Toshiba Scholarship Fund have successfully organized 14 scholarship programs and scientific seminars, 250 graduate students have received the scholarships from the Fund with a total value of over 20,000,000 Yen.
