On April 20th 2019, VNU University of Economics and Business and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom held the Orientation Day for the startup competition Business Challenges 2019 at 76 Yen Phu, Tay Ho, Hanoi.
Orientation Day aimed at spreading information about the competition to
businesses and students who are looking for internship or start-up
opportunities.
Attending the day, there were Mr. Jurgen Martens –
Member of German Parliament; Ms. Josephin Galla – CEO of SAP Vietnam; Mr. Vu
Tien Loc - Chairman of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Head of
the National Steering Committee for Start-up; Mr. Tang Ngoc Truong An - General
Director of Ibosses Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Do Lang - General Director of APEC
Group; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector of VNU University of
Economics and Business; Mr. Mark Stanizki - Country Director, FNF Vietnam; Mr.
Pham Hung Tien - Deputy Director, FNF Vietnam together with strategic partner
of the competition: IBosses Vietnam and BestB Start-up ecosystem; and
representatives of many businesses, the participating teams and students around
Hanoi.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vu Tien Loc
emphasized: “The Business Challenges competition co-organized by the UEB and
FNF is a fire to light up the entrepreneurial spirit in Vietnam. Starting a
business needs to be both creative and humane and catch up with the digital
economy. We will promote such a spirit to guide the teams.”

UEB said: Business Challenges is the annual activities of the UEB, which aims
to promote the policy of practice-based training, focusing on start-up for students
and businesses with creative business ideas.

Business Challenges competition has a total prize of
up to VND 170,000,000 not mention the investment and rewards from businesses
and sponsors. In particular, excellent groups have the opportunities to receive
investment from angel investors with value of up to 1 billion VND/project. The groups
with excellent ideas will be supported by BestB and iBosses Vietnam to develop
the project. In addition, the students will have the opportunities to take up
positions and receive scholarships funded by businesses.
