Commencement exercises: Master and bachelor of Business Administration of joint training program with Troy University

On 22nd October 2015, the VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) solemnly held the commencement exercises and awarded degrees for 43 bachelors and 17 masters of the joint training program in Business Administration with Troy University - USA.

Attending the ceremony, from the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Rector, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development, MA. Hoang Thi Bao Thoa - Deputy Director of the Center for International Training and Education. From Troy University, there were Dr. Jack Hawkins - Chancellor, Dr. Earl Ingram - Senior Vice Chancellor, Dr. Scott Bailey - Deputy Head of International Programs. Besides, the ceremony was attended by honorable guests: Mr. Luther Johnson Strange - Alabama Attorney General, United States; Mr. Terry White - Counselor for Public Affairs of American Embassy in Vietnam together with lecturers, the graduates and families and friends.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Nguyen Hong Son happily said, after 11 years of cooperation, with 14 intakes of the bachelor program and 8 intakes of the Master program, the joint training program between the UEB and Troy University has obtained remarkable results and brought benefits to lecturers and students of both universities. Taking with the graduates, he said, with the knowledge and skills acquired, with creative thinking, bravery and dynamism, each of the graduates will always be confident, stead fast in their career as well as be able to catch good chances and create opportunities in lives. He also reminded the graduates of a famous quote: "Success is a journey, not a destination" (Dwight D. Eisenhower).

Talking to the new masters and bachelors, Alabama Attorney General - Mr. Luther Strange Johnson emphasized the potential for change in current world of knowledge and information, with human knowledge doubling at the rate of once every 18 months. He also gave some advices for the graduates before they embark on their careers: Work harder than ever before, demand the best from yourself, don’t be afraid of risks, fail or making mistakes and get ready to have some fun.

On behalf of the US Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Terry White expressed joy at seeing more and more American universities taking part in joint training programs in Vietnam, creating a firm bridge for the relationship of the two countries.

With deep pride, new master Tran Xuan Thuy shared amazing experiences gained during the program as well as great achievements that the program brought to him. The program gave their participants not only knowledge and skills but also a new network of friends who can encourage, support and inspire each other into the future. He also expressed deep gratitude to the programs, teachers, families and friends for unconditional support.
