When lecturers shake hands with businesses

Theory is never separated from reality. Therefore, it’s necessary for businesses to enrich the working experiences with short courses and lecturers to work with businesses to facilitate their teaching. VNU University of Economics and Business opens a variety of internship program and study tours for the students in their senior years.

Besides, the businesses come to the UEB to order the short courses for their employees. These courses provide the leaders of business with management skills, updated knowledge as well as development trend in the coming time.

Many courses that was deployed at the University, namely: Developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in businesses, planning skills and modern working schedule by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector of the UEB; multinational companies, M&A strategy course by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Viet Khoi; lean management of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dang Minh; Personal Finance of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu and Dr. Trinh Phan Lan. 

Summarize practices and strategic planning

The short-term course is developed by the experts at UEB by accumulated the experiences in business and knowledge after many years of teaching. The course "Planning skills and modern working schedule" taught by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector of the UEB for senior managers of the Party Committee of Hanoi summarizes the experiences from his 17-year working in Poland and the UK and his teaching at a number of universities in the UK and Vietnam. The course highlighted a number of key issues such as (1) Planning needs appropriate and modern methods, (2) Objectives for the plan must be quantified into specific products, (3) In order to succeed in planning, constant supervising of KPIs must be drastically implemented, (4) The reports of plans must be simplified by charts and indicators, (5) Language for KPIs must be simplified and consistent.

In addition, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le is an expert in Game Theory. He had given the course for staff of Vietnam Airlines with Dr. Hoang Khac Lich; the course “Applying KPIs in educational management for University of Mining and Geology and leaders of some universities in Hanoi”.

The course on M&A strategy given to leaders of VNPT by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Viet Khoi focus on making breakthrough strategies in the industrial revolution 4.0, evoke the creativity and effectiveness of strategic planning. Besides, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Viet Khoi also gave lectures to MBA students from Colombo University, Sri Lanka and students from Yokohama National University.
