Regarding capacity building for lecturers and staff, VNU University of Economics and Business has appointed Dr. Luu Thi Minh Ngoc, Head of the Department of Human Resource Management – School of Business Administration, to participate in the professional training on SMEs diagnosis course from the 2nd to the 11th of September, 2019.
The
program was held at the Korea Productivity Center (KPC) in Seoul, South Korea. The
training course is part of the cooperation program in partnership development
and technology transfer between the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Vietnam)
and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (South Korea) with the goal of
training and developing a support team for SMEs in Vietnam, as well as transferring
of Korea Productivity
System (KPS).

The course is divided into two phases. The first one was held in Seoul, South Korea, where leading Korean experts introduced the KPS and explained how to build and apply the criteria for the evaluation of quality and productivity. In addition, they also shared the barriers and difficulties when applying these criteria, along with the views of Korean businesses toward business consultants. The second phase will take place in Hanoi from October 4th, 2019 to October 9th, 2019. Under the guidance of Korean experts, Vietnamese students will participate in the diagnosis and assessment of SMEs in Vietnam.
Dr. Luu Thi Minh Ngoc completed the first phase of the training course in South Korea and was awarded a course complete certification by the Korea Productivity Center (KPC).
According to Dr. Luu Thi Minh Ngoc, the knowledge provided in this course is really helpful. The Korea Productivity System (KPS) can be applied to many areas of SMEs’ operations in order to improve quality and productivity. Besides, the practical work experience of Korean businesses is a beneficial lesson for Vietnamese SMEs experts to refer to and learn from.

Dr. Luu Minh Ngoc hopes that in the second phase, the application of knowledge in the assessment of Vietnamese businesses will give her more practical experiences on the situation of SMEs in Vietnam. The knowledge and experience gained from this course will help her develop a curriculum closely to the reality of businesses to share with the students of the University of Economics and Business – VNU.
