IELTS - the English certificate helps its owner improve their language skills and open up many opportunities for them. Let's meet some students of the joint training programs at the UEB and listen to their sharing about tips to get IELTS score.

Le Viet Cuong - student of intake 19 UEB - Troy

When starting the program, Cuong was quite worried about the program taught entirely in English (50% of the credits are taught by American lecturers). After a year, thanks to his efforts and support of the lecturers, Cuong get the IELTS score of 7.0 and went well with his courses.

Aiming at effective learning, save time and efforts, Cuong plan his study carefully. He said: “I have designed myself a careful schedule: doing the test and correcting the problem within 2 days. Practice listening every night by watching videos on Youtube. Learn the structure of the IELTS exam and conquer the 4 sections systematically and really carefully.”

From previous exams, Cuong believes that most of the word filling questions can be found in the reading passage, not requiring self-inventing, it is important that learners find the right place and choose the correct number of words. And his secret is to read the favorite magazines and English stories.

When taking the IELTS listening test, candidates can only listen once, so try to be very focused when taking the test. If you can't write down the answer at a certain point, just skip it to avoid dragging your attention away in the following sections.

Cuong said, over a year of studying the IELTS, he registered to participate in many periodic mock tests organized by the University/its partners and the British Council. Having a mock test gave him a lot of benefits and confidence before starting the actual exam.
