On 12th June 2019, leaders of VNU University of Economics and Business had a meeting with representatives of California State University Channel Islands.
Attending the meeting, from California State University Channel Islands, there were Prof. Elizabeth A. Say – Interim Provost, Dr. Mr. Osman Ozturgut - Deputy Director in charge of international programs; from VNU University of Economics and Business, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, MA. Nguyen Duc Lam - Deputy Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development.
Opening the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu gave a brief introduction about the UEB, especially the orientation of internationalization as well as its strengths in training, research and international publication.
Prof. Elizabeth introduced the Channel Islands University, the youngest university in California's public university system with an ideal location and climate and extensive academic programs. The provost of Channel Islands University wished to extend the cooperation with the UEB to create more exchange/internship opportunities for American students.
After that, representatives of the two universities discussed cooperation opportunities such as student exchange, short-term courses for graduate students. The UEB can act as a bridge to connect students of Channel Islands University and enterprises in Vietnam. In addition, the UEB wished to invite scholars from the Channel Islands University to attend international conferences organized by the University etc.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue exchanging information to come up with cooperation activities in the coming time.
