Establishing partnership with the University of Massachusetts Lowell (The US)

On 14th January 2011, representatives from the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass Lowell) has visited and had a working session with UEB leaders.


Led by Prof. Nina Coppens - Dean, College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, the UMass Lowell delegations included Dr. Krishna Vedula - Special Assistant to the Provost for International Affair and other professors of Psychology and Economics. From University of Economics and Business - VNU, there were Prof. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh - Vice Rector, Dr. Pham Thi Lien, Vice Dean of Business Administration Faculty, Dr. Pham Vu Thang, Director of Center for International Training and Education, MBA. Nguyen Thuy Linh, Vice Director of Research and Partnership Development Office.

Formed in 1863, UMass Lowell shares the similarity with UEB in the development strategic, which is paid the priority on quality of teaching, research and service. In particular, UMass Lowell has been accelerating the cooperation with international prestigious universities, among which University of Economics and Business has the honor as one of the partners. This has been the first time when UMass Lowell leader visited UEB. At the working session, two sides have introduced current training programs as well as considered the collaborative possibilities. In particular, Umass Lowell representatives and UEB leaders discussed on bachelor and master degree programs in the model of 2+2 or 3+2. Accordingly, the UEB will send the curriculum and syllabi framework of 16+23 Bachelor of Business Administration training program to the UMass Lowell to consider the transference and recognition of credits.

At the meeting, the two sides also discussed the cooperation plans in training business, accounting and finance, which is totally by Vietnam program. In addition, comments on the scholar exchange program and visiting scholar program and joint research projects were approved. In the coming time, UMass and UEB are going to  signan MOU, setting long-term relationships and coordinate in training and research.
