On 26th June 2009, the opening ceremony of Intake I of the Bilingual Master of Business Administration Program between Benedictine University (USA) and University of Economics and Business - VNU was organized at the CEO.
Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Vice Rector of the UEB, Prof. John Carroll - Benedictine University (US), Mr. Nguyen Phuong Hinh - Program Manager of the Vietnam Institute, Benedictine University, and lecturers, guests as well as 80 students of Intake I.At the beginning of the Ceremony, on behalf of the UEB, VNU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son delivered his congratulatory speech to new students attending the Bilingual Master of Business Administration Program, he also emphasized the importance of the cooperation between the two partners and confirmed that the UEB would support the Program so that it would be well developed with quality in order to provide our society with talented administrators.
On behalf of the Benedictine University (USA), Prof. John Carroll gave a speech expressing the hope that the first Intake would be successful and become the experimental courses for even better and well organized courses to follow. He also announced the BenCares Project for the Intake I. This project with a donation of 2000 USD in total will be used to evenly assist the two charity organizations proposed by the two cohorts and accepted by the Benedictine representatives at the end of the program. This project is set up to foster the students’ spirit of leadership and their sense of responsibility toward their community. It’s also a token of appreciation from the Benedictine University to the Vietnamese people.
In closing, Mr. Vu Minh Tuan, Marketing Director of Emerson Company (USA), represented the 80 students of Intake I shared his thoughts, and expectations about the course and hoped that after graduating, the knowledge learnt from the Program would serve their jobs better.
