On 13th December 2016, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) held the Shinnyo Scholarship Award Ceremony (Japan) for the academic year of 2016 - 2017. VNU University of Economics and Business has nine students receiving the scholarships this time.
Attending the ceremony, there were representatives of Shinnyo Scholarship Fund, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quan - Vice President of VNU, Dr. Pham Minh Tuan - Vice Rector of the UEB, heads of VNU’s offices and 210 students receiving the scholarships.
This is the 10th year the Shinnyo Scholarship was deployed at VNU. In 10 years, the scholarship fund has awarded more than 2,000 scholarships for VNU students. The scholarship supports for students with outstanding academic achivement, having great contribution to youth/union activities or students from difficult families. Each of the scholarship values USD 300/year for university students and USD 200/year for high school students.
Among these 210 students, there were 80 students receiving the scholarship for the first time; 103 students continue to receive the scholarship and 27 students recently added to the list of receiving scholarships.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Quan said, the scholarship is not only a reward but also a source of great motivation for students who have difficulties and strive to learn. He also remind the students that receiving Shinnyo scholarships is an honor, pride and also the opportunity to help them acquire new knowledge, achieve better academic results and strive to become useful citizens of the country.
