Recently, VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) and Ha Tinh University had met to discuss expanding their cooperation in education, providing opportunities for student exchange, faculty exchange, and collaboration. Prior to this, on March 19, 2023, the delegation from UEB also visited and worked with Ha Tinh University.
The meeting was attended by Associate Professor Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Associate Professor Nguyen Manh Tuan - Former Vice Rector, as well as the leaders of faculties, institutes, centers, and departments of UEB. From Ha Tinh University, there were Dr. Doan Hoai Son - Rector, Dr. Ho Thi Nga - Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam - Principal of Primary, Secondary, and High School, along with representatives from faculties, departments, and functional units.
During the meeting, representatives from both universities discussed details regarding multi-field cooperation, including undergraduate and postgraduate education, improving the quality of student services, digital transformation plans, smart university management, collaborative implementation of practical scientific research projects, and enhancing the quality of the university's staff and faculty.
At the event, Associate Professor Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector of the University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University, Hanoi (UEB), emphasized the potential for bilateral cooperation in education and other areas. He stated, "Achievements in education and training, efforts to support students' progress and professionalism, the application of research results to serve the community and more are evidence of the relentless efforts of UEB in enhancing comprehensive quality and providing a professional and internationally standardized learning environment for students. The university is ready to support, share, collaborate, and exchange with Ha Tinh University in all fields to help strengthen the foundation of education and provide sustainable academic value not only for students, faculty, and staff but also towards the mission of serving the community."
With shared directions and strong points in training, the University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University recognizes the potential collaborative opportunities between the two institutions. Particularly, there are opportunities for activities that enhance specialized expertise for faculty members and lecturers, expand networking through student and faculty exchange programs, collaborate with local departments and agencies to carry out research and policy consulting projects in areas such as coastal economics, economic integration, new rural development, sustainable poverty reduction, digital transformation revolution, and tourism value exploitation.
On the part of Ha Tinh University, Dr. Doan Hoai Son, the University President, also expressed gratitude and the hope that the exchange of specific content would serve as a foundation for the development of a collaborative relationship between the two universities, especially since Ha Tinh University has officially become a member of Hanoi National University: "Ha Tinh University aims to expand multi-disciplinary cooperation with the University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University in the near future, especially as both institutions share common orientations and training fields. We hope that after today's ceremony, it will open the door for deep and extensive collaboration and connections, helping Ha Tinh University enhance the quality of education as well as the pool of skilled graduates, aligning with our mission of societal development, community service, and national dedication."
In addition to the specific collaborative discussions, the leadership representatives from various Departments/Institutes/Centers of the two universities also delved into deeper discussions about training fields and specialties. They discussed practical internship programs for students: "Opportunities for local coastal economic development, logistics, tourism-based economic exploitation... are potential subjects that the partnering universities can collaborate on through research projects, practical application, and implementation of policies and recommendations. These efforts bring us closer to national objectives. With these topics, the Department of Economic Development, leveraging its strong research capabilities and solid educational foundation, along with experienced faculty members, can provide support, establish connections, and facilitate student and faculty training exchanges with Ha Tinh University," shared Associate Professor Dr. Le Dinh Hai, Vice Head of the Department of Economic Development.
At the end of the exchange session, the delegation from Ha Tinh University visited the facilities of Lecture Hall E4 at the University of Economics and Business - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This is one of the three main lecture hall areas of UEB, equipped with fully furnished teaching and learning equipment, open and creative spaces closely connected to nature, and a modern studio system with all the functions to support the university's communication activities.
The meeting ended on a positive note, bringing valuable exchange of experiences, and raising issues to move towards reaching a cooperative agreement for the 2023-2027 phase in various fields of education, scientific research, and community service between the two universities.
