On January 16, 2024, the University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB) solemnly held a ceremony to announce and award the decision to appoint the title of Associate Professor to three faculty members: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hien, Head of the Business Culture Department, School of Business Administration; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thanh Huong, Associate Dean of the Faculty of International Business and Economics; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhung, Head of the Financial Investment Department, Faculty of Finance and Banking. Among nearly 200 full-time faculty members, over 10% hold the titles of Professor and Associate Professor.
The achievement of the three new Associate Professors in their teaching and research careers is also a source of pride for the UEB. Acknowledging and sharing the joy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Truc Le, Party Secretary, Chairman of the University Council, congratulated and expressed confidence in the further development of the three new Associate Professors.
"I would like to acknowledge and thank the efforts and dedication of the professors throughout their long journey to reap the deserved rewards today. As a leader of the university, I place my trust and assign the professors the responsibility of teaching, research, scientific and technological activities of the university as well as the responsibility of training the young faculty - the successors of the UEB. Together, we must complete the mission of training generations of global citizens with 'Heart - Virtue - Intelligence – Talent - Serving the Nation!'".
With their relentless efforts, the new Associate Professors have achieved success and recognition in prestigious scientific journals worldwide, contributing to bringing the brand of the University of Economics and Business to international friends.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hien has 34 scientific publications with ISSN/ISBN, including 10 articles published in prestigious international publishers recognized by the Nafosted council, 8 international articles as the main author, including 1 ISI/Scopus Q1 ABS as an independent author, 4 ISI/Scopus ABS as the lead author, 2 ISI/Scopus as the contact author, 1 Emerald as an independent author. Besides, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hien led and participated in 2 provincial-level projects, presented 3 reports at international scientific conferences, and co-edited 4 books serving training, including 1 Scopus book published on Springer Nature. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hien also led the editorial team of a book that won the "R. Wayne Pace HRD Book of The Year” award from the Academy of Human Resource Development (USA).
For Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thanh Huong, she has published 44 scientific articles, including 05 in ISI/Scopus listed international journals; published 21 books, of which she is the main author/co-author of 04 monographs and many other scientific works. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thanh Huong has also been honored as an individual with significant contributions to the development of UEB and played an important role in the formation and development of the strong VNU research group on International Economic Integration, contributing to expanding the international cooperation network.
Working at the University of Economics and Business immediately after completing her Ph.D. program in France, after more than 7 years of teaching and research, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhung has achieved many accomplishments in scientific research and teaching: completed and accepted 05 scientific research projects at various levels, published 42 scientific articles, including 9 international journal articles (7 ISI/Scopus listed)... The student groups guided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhung in scientific research often achieve high awards, including a group that won the Euréka Scientific Research Student Award.
