On May 19, 2017, School of Business Administration organized a workshop regarding ‘entrepreneurial spirit, start-up models’
This is the first event among a series of supporting activities for UEB Genesis Start-up contest 2017 (hereinafter referred to as UGS 2017). The workshop welcomed a guest speaker, Dr. Phan Tat Thu- President of KNV group, and an organizer representative, of Dr. Ho Chi Dung- Head of Marketing division of School of Business Administration. Joining the workshop also has Dr. Nguyen Thuy Linh- EDNA representative, 37 teams from different universities, and interested students.
To begin the workshop, Dr. Ho Chi Dung made a remark which cordially welcomed the participation of 37 teams and re-addressed the significance of the contest. To continue, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Linh delivered a speech to introduce EDNA as well as why this initiative was promoted. All participants did freely exchange ideas and opportunities that students are expected to seize in this contest.

During workshop, guest speaker Dr. Phan Tat Thu was pleased to share experience about the entrepreneurial spirit and successful start-up models. His sharing was deemed specious since he has not only been a respected entrepreneurship educator but also run a successful business.
One thing that made his sharing special was his discussion about the contemporary entrepreneurship, about successful innovators, and successful persons who always strived for self-esteem. He did address 10 words in business “Khach- Chao- Tiep- Kenh- Thu- Hoat- Nguon- Mang- Chi- Loi” and preeminent Business Model Canvas which has been regarded as an exceptional tool for both established businesses and start-ups to map out effective strategies. On top of that, a wide variety of start-up stories and successful entrepreneurs talked in the workshop did inspire participating teams and interested students.
To its end, all teams and interested students reported to learn a lot through the face-to-face conversations with the guest speaker and therefore found all information helpful in further developing and perfecting their business ideas.
