Attending the meeting, there were Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development, Dr. Tran The Nu - Deputy Dean of Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, Dr. Nguyen Thi Huong Lien - Head of Department, Faculty of Accounting and Auditing.
National Chung Cheng University (CCU) was established in 1989, including 7 member universities, offering 29 undergraduate programs, 44 master programs, 29 doctoral programs and 17 programs in extended education. The university has about 960 faculty members and 12,000 students. As a research-oriented university, CCU offers students in-depth knowledge and advanced skills in the field of humanities, science, engineering, law and management. This is the first time representatives of CCU have visited the UEB. The two universities agreed to further promote cooperation and implementation of student exchange in the future.
The Association of International Accountants (AIA) is a global body for professional accountants. With history of 85 years, AIA currently has participation of 85 countries and more than 150,000 students. AIA is headquartered in the United Kingdom and subsidiaries in 27 countries in the European Union, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, Caribbean, USA, Africa and many other territories. The AIA in Taiwan is the first global accountant association granted licenses to operate in this country. Currently, there are about 250 students joining the organization, majority come from the top 4 of Taiwan's most prestigious accounting bodies, internationally renowned companies, leaders of securities companies and university students. AIA not only provides its students with training programs, which offer international accounting certificates, but also gives them the internship opportunities in China, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom etc. Besides, students also have chance to improve professional knowledge and English skills for their careers in the future.
The working visit of AIA Taiwan and National Chung Cheng University to the UEB this time aims at building a cooperative training program among AIA, CCU and UEB (namely the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing). Accordingly, the participants agreed to further discuss the training curriculum in accounting and auditing in order to develop the most effective training programs.
Besides, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Hanoi emphasized that the Office will actively support for cooperation activities among the sides as well as regularly provide information about postgraduate scholarship programs (master’s and doctoral programs) and other exchange and cooperation activities to the UEB.
Representatives from the UEB, National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan AIA and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office take a shot together
The meeting ended successfully, giving path for the development of cooperation between the VNU University of Economics and Business with Taiwanese universities.
