The competition organized by the Korea-Vietnam Inclusive Growth Association (KOVIG) and VNU University of Economics and Business has attracted nearly 400 students. The judges of the final round included representatives from both Vietnam and South Korea.
Attending the event, there were Prof. Chung Un Chan - Former Korean Prime Minister, Honorary Chairman of KOVIG, Dr. Kim Duk Hyun - Rector of Gyeonggi University of Science & Technology, Dr. Kyoo-Yong Lee - Former Minister of Korean Resources, Dr. Seo Seungwon - Vice President of Central Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, Dr. Young-Sup Joo - Former President of Small and Medium Business Association. From the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector and leaders of affiliated units.
Vietnam - Korea Grow Together Business Challenge 2019 supports the realization of ideas and promotion of model projects for the bilateral development of Vietnam and Korea partnership, targeting young Vietnamese. Through the competition, the best ideas will be nurtured and supported with favorable conditions to become real products serving community.
Opening the event, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector of the UEB said: With the core values of "High quality - Innovation - Pioneering - Integrating - Responsibility - Sustainable Development”, as a member of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; the UEB has always operated dynamically with many activities, projects and initiatives in the field of start-ups.
The final round consisted 6 teams from universities across the country with many practical projects. After the opening, the teams had 4 minutes to present their projects and answered question from the judges. After that, the whole team listened to evaluation and comments from the judges.
Ending the competition, the organizer awarded a special prize worth 3,000 USD in cash and a 4-day-3-night trip to Korea for the winner - JLT team with KoVie project - a specialized social network for Koreans and Vietnamese. The product is not only the cultural exchange platform between Vietnam and Korea, but also creates a community for studying and exchanging for the students.
