Within the group that focuses on research on the interface of theoretical microeconomics and psychology we have a vacancy for a PhD position (1,0 fte) Vacancy nr. 601017
While insights from psychology have been integrated into mainstream economic theory, the research group focuses on analysing how psychological effects can be used strategically.
Candidates should have proven interest in theoretical microeconomics and experimental research, preferably in the area of industrial organization, non-cooperative game theory or the economics of social networks. They will be able to adapt and work out the specific focus and application of the projectStrategic Framing.
Qualifications:
We require an excellent researcher with a research master's degree in economics
and a good knowledge of game theory and experimental economics. We will consider applicants with other research master’s degrees too if they have some expertise in (game-) theoretical research.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with conducting theoretical research and formal modeling and laboratory or field experiments;
- An affinity with interdisciplinary research; affinity with and knowledge of game theory
- Excellent communicative skills and a good command of English. The dissertation
is to be written in English.
We offer a PhD position (1,0 fte) with an initial 18 month contract, starting 1 November 2010. If positively evaluated, this can be extended for 18 more months. The salary for a full time appointment is min. € 2.042,- max. € 2.612.- gross per month.
