I. GENERAL INFORMATION
The Center for Business Administration Studies (CBAS) was established on 28th January 2011 as a unit under VNU University of Economics and Business.
At present, CBAS has 30 highly qualified specialists in competitiveness strategy, marketing and product strategy; distribution systems; supply chain; corporate management; human resource development; organizational culture and leadership.

III. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Functions:
- Basic research, applied research on business administration field and other related fields; deploy, apply research results into practice and serve training activities, scientific research of UEB.
- Supporting and consulting on business administration and other relevant fields for domestic and foreign organizations and individuals.
- Organizing the implementation of cooperative programs and projects with domestic and foreign organizations in accordance with the functions and tasks of the Center.
- Participating in undergraduate and postgraduate training in business administration according to the tasks assigned by the Rector of UEB.
- Organizing short-term training courses in business administration and other related fields for organizations and individuals in need.
2. Responsibilities:
2.1. Research and consult on business administration:
- Organizing the implementation of scientific research programs, topics and projects on business administration and related fields.
- Consulting on business administration and related fields in order to improve the capacity of domestic and foreign organizations and individuals.
- Developing projects, seeking resources to implement or jointly implement international research projects.
- Proposing and bidding for research projects with local administrations at all levels or ministries and departments.
- Participating in bidding for projects at state-level, ministerial-level and VNU-level as well as VNU's strategic research programs.
- Organizing domestic conferences and seminars; proposing the Rector of UEB to report to VNU for approval of plans for organizing conferences, seminars with foreign elements and organizing the implementation in accordance with regulations.
2.2. Implement training activities:
- Participating in undergraduate and postgraduate training activities as assigned by the Rector of UEB.
- Organizing short-term training courses on business administration and related fields for agencies, organizations and individuals in need.
- Implementing programs to support young talents, scholarships for skill training to develop the young scientific community on issues related to business administration.
- Developing and submitting to the Rector for approval of the Center's development strategies and plans in accordance with the University's general development orientation.
- Coordinating with relevant units in the University to perform common tasks of the University.
- Reporting on the operation and personnel situation of the Center every 6 months or upon request.
- Conducting annual financial report for the University.
- Effectively managing the use of the assigned resources and assets.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Rector.
IV. Major activities
CBAS is mainly responsible for the following areas:
- Scientific research and development of technology in business administration.
- Technological services: advising on technology transfer, organizing training courses, scientific conferences, international cooperation on business administration. Research, consultancy and training of CBAS are directed towards the sustainable development of Vietnam’s enterprises.
- Designing and implementing sustainable business strategies: strategies for competitiveness, products and market development, manufacture, environment and social responsibilities.
- Designing and implementing managing solutions for productivity improvement, product and service quality, especially productivity of the service sectors.
- Designing and implementing managing solutions for sustainable manufacturing development and lean manufacture.
- Developing skills and thinking for managers and entrepreneurs: leadership skills, people mobilization, human resources management, development of corporate culture.
CBAS’ advisory services:
- Increasing productivity, quality and effectiveness of corporate operation: employing quality evaluation systems of ISO 9000, ISO 27000, ISO 26000, ISO 22000 and advanced tools of Kaizen 5S, QFD, Lean Six Sigma.
- Re-structure of business process and entire organizational structure.
- Strategic advisory: competitiveness strategy, business development strategy.
- Human resources advisory: assessment and recruitment, performance assessment and designing payment systems based on working effectiveness.
- Advisory on risk administration and developing internal control system.
