FIBE students meet UK’s Foreign Minister

On 25th April 2012, at the main hall of British Council (20 Thuy Khue, Tay Ho, Hanoi), along with student of Vietnam National University Hanoi and more than 20 students of Faculty of International Economics and Business, VNU-UEB attended the exchange meeting with the Foreign Minister of UK - HE. William Hague under the topic: “Education cooperation between Vietnam and United Kingdom.”

Coming to join the exchange meeting with the Ministerứa Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan, President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
During the meeting, Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan has assured the status and  high training quality of Vietnam National University, especially the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Economics and Business which is typical for the orientation of reforming the curriculum framework according to international standard.
As representing United Kingdom side, HE. William Hague has emphasized the importance of the cooperation between the UK and Vietnam especially in education. Besides, he also affirmed that the UK education model and system with a long lasting history of development, which is recognized as the most modern education in the world, has been expanding globally, from developed countries such as America, Canada to the developing countries like Vietnam. In Vietnam, the UK education has been known under the names of Oxford University, Cambridge University…

With the advantages of English proficiency, UEB students have proposed sharp questions and received the responses with enthusiasm from the Foreign Minister. This has brought an warm and close atmosphere to the meeting.
The meeting was much more vigorous with the presences of alumni who have been lived and worked in the UK. They shared about their experience in life as well as the time they have spent in the UK. The alumni’s openness brought useful experience and precious knowledge of studying in the UK to the students.
Closing the exchange meeting, representatives from both sides expected to organize more cooperation education programs, making them more successfully in order to foster the cooperation and diplomatic relations between the two nations.
