International Journal of Urban Sustainable Development, 10(1), 79-91 (2018)
Using a novel dataset involving 450 respondents living in their own affordable apartments in urban Hanoi, this study examines the housing satisfaction of the respondents and its correlates. We find that housing satisfaction is positively associated with household income but negatively related to education. Interestingly, the study finds that residents borrowing from banks to buy a home are less satisfied with their home than their non-borrowing counterparts. We also find that respondents’ positive evaluation of features of their apartments, such as the design, construction quality and price, is strongly linked with housing satisfaction. In addition, the location of the house and quality of the environment in the area were found to be major factors affecting housing satisfaction.

Interval Complex Neutrosophic Set: Formulation and Applications in Decision-Making

International Journal of Fuzzy Systems 20, 986–999 (2018)
Neutrosophic set is a powerful general formal framework which generalizes the concepts of classic set, fuzzy set, interval-valued fuzzy set, intuitionistic fuzzy set, etc. Recent studies have developed systems with complex fuzzy sets, for better designing and modeling real-life applications. The single-valued complex neutrosophic set, which is an extended form of the single-valued complex fuzzy set and of the single-valued complex intuitionistic fuzzy set, presents difficulties to defining a crisp neutrosophic membership degree as in the single-valued neutrosophic set. Therefore, in this paper we propose a new notion, called interval complex neutrosophic set (ICNS), and examine its characteristics. Firstly, we define several set theoretic operations of ICNS, such as union, intersection and complement, and afterward the operational rules. Next, a decision-making procedure in ICNS and its applications to a green supplier selection are investigated. Numerical examples based on real dataset of Thuan Yen JSC, which is a small-size trading service and transportation company, illustrate the efficiency and the applicability of our approach.

Application of visual management in small medium enterprises in Vietnam
Nguyen Dang Minh & Luu Quoc Dat & Nguyen Hong Son & Pham Minh Tuan & Nguyen Dang Toan
International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, Inderscience Enterprises Ltd, 21(6), 509-529 (2017).
Lean manufacturing (LM), often simply named as 'lean', plays an important role in enterprises to eliminate waste, increase productivity and efficiency. Visual management (VM) is one of the most efficient and widely used tools and techniques in LM in addition to other techniques like 5S, Kaizen, just-in-time, etc. Lean has been introduced in Vietnam for more than ten years, but few enterprises have applied and attained significant achievement. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the barriers to VM implementation in small- and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs) in Vietnam. In this study, in-depth semi-structured interviews, surveys, plant visit (factory tour) and, in some cases, observed managers' statements and conversations with blue-collar workers are used to collect relevant data. Based on the results, a VM model which consists of five main factors including human mindset, employee participation, board of management's long-term commitment, training program, and reward/punishment policy, is proposed for further development of LM in SMEs in Vietnam.

The driving forces of economic growth before and after the 2008 global financial crisis
Phan The Cong, Hoang Khac Lich
International Journal of Economics and Financial Issues, 7(1), 575-582 (2017)
This paper investigates the determinants of economic growth in two different periods, 2002-2008 and 2008-2013. As national output can be determined by the functions of production and consumption, the explanatory variables consist of growth rates of investment, labor, household consumption, government spending and exports. Analyzing the data of 129 countries, this paper has four main findings: (i) Investment and exports have positive impacts on economic growth; (ii) Labor has significant positive impact if we investigate the period from 2002 to 2013 as a whole. The effect is only positive in the first period with low statistically significance while remains unclear in the second period; (iii) Household consumption has ambiguous impact on economic growth. There exists some evidences (with 90% confidence level) that household consumption might produce a minor adverse effect on economic growth; (iv) The relationship between economic growth and government spending is positive in the first period and negative in the second.
