On 13th June 2017, Dr. Ruediger Vincent Graichen - Senior Advisor of Friedrich Naumann Foundation, Germany (FNF) had a meeting with leaders of VNU University of Economics and Business.
Attending the meeting, there were Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Thi Vu Ha - Deputy Head of Research and Partnership Development, Dr. Nguyen Cam Nhung - Vice Dean of Faculty of International Business and Economics.
Opening the meeting, Dr. Ruediger Vincent Graichen thanked the UEB for the warm reception. Dr. Ruediger will be working in Vietnam for three months before FNF has a new representative in Vietnam. He wishes to listen to the university's sharing of activities being implementing as well as cooperation plans in the coming time.
Talking with FNF’s representatives, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu briefly summarized the UEB’s activities in research and training. At the same time, she mentioned the cooperative activities of UEB and FNF in successful publication of the Vietnamese-German bilingual book "Prospects for Vietnam and Germany in the context of ASEAN economic integration and EU" in 2015.
In addition, the training activities of the UEB have received effective support from FNF. Specifically, in July 2016, the summer extracurricular program held by the Faculty of International Business and Economics was attended by Mr. Hanns Georg Jonek - Former Representative of FNF in Vietnam. Accordingly, in July 2017, FIBE continued to undertake the summer program under the theme of “summer start-up challenge”. At the meeting, representatives from FIBE shared the content and plan for the program this year.
Ending the meeting, the representatives of UEB thanked the FNF for their support over the time. Leaders of the University also hoped that FNF will stay as a bridge between the UEB and famous universities in Germany.
