On 22rd November 2017, leaders of VNU University of Economics and Business had a meeting with representatives of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Attending the meeting, there were Mr. Mark Bilington - Regional Director of ICAEW in South East Asia, Ms. Dang Thi Mai Trang - Chief Representative of ICAEW in Vietnam. From the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Dr. Le Trung Thanh - Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development, Dr. Trần Thế Nữ - Associate Dean of Faculty of Accounting and Auditing.
ICAEW and UEB signed the Memorandum of Understanding in December 2016. The signing of the agreement has paved the way for a lot of cooperation activities between the two sides over the years. In particular, ICAEW sponsors 20 scholarships for students and 7 scholarships for lecturers of Faculty of Accounting and Auditing as well as organizing and sponsoring training programs for UEB’s students. At the same time, UEB and ICAEW have co-operated in organizing various conferences and career orientation for students as well as important events of the two sides.
Representatives of the two sides at the meeting
The meeting is an opportunity for the two sides to discuss details of cooperation activities, particularly in promoting the development of training programs, exchange of students. Specifically, ICAEW has collaborated with UEB to develop a high quality curriculum for accounting and auditing. The program offers high quality accounting and auditing opportunities for students at international standard with many opportunities for study and internship abroad. At the meeting, representatives of the two sides exchanged specific contents and plans to put the program into enrollment in the new school year as well as how to carry out student exchange activities.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed on specific cooperation activities to be implemented in the coming time as well as long-term development orientations in the future.
