With rich experiences and knowledge during his time of managing financial institutions and universities, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le has developed the Key Performance Indicators. The measurement set was also adjusted and improved after his lectures at the People Committee of Hanoi, Vietnam Airlines and universities in Hanoi.

This time, he had the lecture on the topic for leaders of the People committees, heads of offices and departments, principals in Hoan Kiem District.

 

The lecture focused on some main contents such as approach methods in developing plans and working out steps, modern thinking tools and methods to develop the plan, supervising and assessing the plan following KPIs, proposing instructions for applying the KPIs in the current context.

To illustrate the approach in planning, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le took the sample of strategic map used by economic development Agency, US Ministry of Trade; strategic map of Royal Canadian Cavalry Police, strategic map of Fulton County School System; strategic map of the Boston Lyric Opera House. The organizations in economic, military, and educational organizations all use KPIs.

 

A good plan must clarify its specific goal, illustrated by SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timebound). Besides, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le shared the principal of Pareto 20-80. He said that, any organizations must identify its 20% core human and material sources, which play the key part in implementing 80% of the plan. Besides, it is necessary to supplement new human resource ready to replace the retired.

Ending the course, leaders of Hoan Kiem District thanked Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le for delivering such an inspiring and in-depth course for the managers and leaders in the District. Hopefully, the course would bring creativity and effectiveness to the administration systems in the area.
