In the visit, UEB’s leaders aims to tighten the partnership with strategic partners as well as to expand cooperation with Japanese partners in the fields of teaching and scientific research; while opening international scholars networks, especially for the Green Growth Project, to develop research projects and co-organize the international conferences and exchange programs of students and faculty members.

In Tokyo, UEB’s delegation has met with leaders of Japan Society for Information and Management - JSIM, and had a discussion with partner on the plan of co-organizing the international workshop JSIM 2016 in Hanoi. The two sides have agreed on some key points related to the conference (conference is expected to attract more than 100 international scholars from the US, Japan, Korea, China). Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son emphasized that this would provide the faculty members, researchers, and practitioners of Vietnam with great opportunities to learn from valuable international experience in the field of economics and business, especially how to develop the advantages of the information about the country's economic development. Prof. Masaharu Ota, president of the JSIM also confirmed that the conference would help international researchers and businessmen as well as Japanese companies to understand more about the business environment and corporate governance practices of Vietnam, which contributes to promote collaborative research and business between Vietnam and Japan.

In Osaka, the delegation has visited and worked with leaders of Osaka City University (OCU). Here, Rectors of two institutions have participated in the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between VNU-UEB and the Graduate School of Business - GSB of OCU. The two sides agreed, the Graduate School of Business would be international partner of Bachelor of Business Administration of international standard program and Master in Management of Technology and Entrepreneurship program of Faculty of Business Administration, UEB. At the meeting, Prof. Ota, in charge of foreign affairs of GSB has proposed to organize the student exchange program for students of GSB and students of Bachelor of Business Administration of international standard program, UEB in October, 2015. In addition, the GSB faculty members also agreed to participate in delivering visiting lectures for the Master in Management of Technology and Entrepreneurship program.

At Kyoto University, UEB’s leaders have worked with Prof. Naoki Wakabayoshi, Dean of Faculty of Economics and Associate Dean of Faculty of Business, Kyoto University. During the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son has introduced the green growth project which has been being implemented by UEB. The professors of Kyoto University commited to promote cooperative researches in the field of green growth, the two sides agreed on the plan and collaborative activities.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son and Dr. Nguyen Dang Minh worked with Prof. Naoki Wakabayoshi and Prof. Takekazu Iwamoto, Dean of Faculty of Economics, Kyoto University.

Beside the meeting at Kyoto University, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son had a visiting lecture for graduate students of the School of Economics and School of Business, Kyoto University with the theme "The development of the service sector in Vietnam: Opportunities for Foreign Investors". Students and professors from the Partner University highly appreciated the content of lectures and raised a lot of questions to the speaker on Vietnamese service, the ability to promote cooperation between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises in the field of services (logistics, resorts, telecommunications ...).

At Ishigaki (an island in southern of Okinawa), Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son and Dr. Nguyen Dang Minh have attended the JSIM Annual Conference. In this conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son and Dr. Nguyen Dang Minh made keynote speeches on the topic "A new lean management model for Vietnamese enterprises". This is also a research topic of the research group "Lean Management in the business/organization in Vietnam".

At the end of the trip, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Hong Son believed that UEB and Japanese partners would continue to strengthen and tighten the cooperation in the future.
