On November 22nd 2019, VNU University of Economics and Business signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fanshawe College, Canada. Accordingly, UEB students will have the opportunity to receive Canadian Government scholarships.
Attending the signing ceremony, from Fanshawe College, there were Mr. Peter J. Devlin - President; Ms. Mary Pierce - Dean of Faculty of Business Administration; Mr. Larry Weir - Associate Dean of the Norton Wolf School of Aviation Technology; Ms. Saurabh Malhotra - Manager, International Recruitment and Market Development; Mr. Jay Park - Market Leader of Korea, Japan, ASEAN region; Ms. Inna - International Education Advisor.
From UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le - Rector, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Cam Nhung - Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development.
Overview of the MOU signing ceremony
Earlier, on October 17, representative of Fanshawe College - Mr. Jay Park visited and discussed about the opportunities for cooperation between the two sides with Dr. Nguyen Cam Nhung, Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development. Information about the university as well as terms and conditions of the MOU were introduced and discussed. Specifically, Fanshawe College wanted to attract Vietnamese students by organizing student exchange activities. Accordingly, the Canadian government will provide scholarships for Vietnamese students to exchange for 1-2 semesters in Fanshawe, Canada.
The two sides agreed on an MOU signing in November when the delegation including the President of Fanshawe came to visit. On November 22nd, the signing ceremony was held at VNU University of Economics and Business in the presence of the two top leaders of the two universities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le said: UEB is promoting education internationalization. Up to now, UEB has signed with 23 prestigious universities in the world with the hope to create lots of opportunities for UEB students to study abroad and attract foreign students to UEB to study. Fanshawe College is ranked among top university in Canada, so UEB is delighted that the two universities have come to an agreement in the MOU signing ceremony today. The first group of UEB students coming to Canada to study will turn what the two sides signed today into reality and strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two schools.

After the signing ceremony, there was a talk between representatives and students, sharing information about the school, facilities, institutions, and learning environment in Canada.
The signing ceremony also had the participation of a large number of UEB's students interested in studying abroad
